Thursday the 29 th is the day that I am having my surgery. YAY!!! I am so excited to finally get it over with. It has been a year and half that I have waited for this and now it's finally here.

I went for my preops last Monday the 19th and by the time I got home they had called and left me a message telling me that my blood glucose was 507 and I needed to get to my family Dr. or ER as soon as I could. It was after 5 when I got home so that left the ER but I chose to wait until the next day to go to my family Dr. She put me on insulin (Humulin R) injections. I give myself shots 4 times a day now and the dose is adjusted to my glucose reading. Surprisingly my the shots don't hurt at all, whew!!!

Tomorrow I go for an Echo Cardiogram and that should be all of the pre surgery tests. The preop center called me Friday around noon to come up there to have one done then, but of course it's a 2 hour drive up and they hadn't made an appointment yet so I doubted if I could have made it then and said Tuesday would be better in the afternoon. Well of course no one listens so I have to be up there bright and early. I will just have to get up at the crack of dawn, not good for someone that isn't a morning person. lol

Thought I would show you the place I would the next few days. I think it will be 10 East but then everything changes. The hospital sure has undergone the changes since my grandmother was there in late 70's with Renal failure. She had to travel up there twice a week for Dialysis for 2 and half years so I got to know the place pretty good. Now it's all different with new buildings and additions to the original hospital. Sure don't look like the same place.

Well Friends if all goes well I should be back in no time at all and on the losers bench. So please take care and happy stitching.

I did not work on Chief at all this week as I am trying to hurry and finish the secret stitching project. You can see on the right side part of my Q-snaps, don't you just love Q-snaps. I sure do and they make life so much easier. The colors in this are fantastic with a lot purple's and yellow's, I am so excited about this stitch. Sorry I can't show you more as I am afraid it will give it away.

I went Monday to my Surgeon's office and guess who has a surgery date. YAY!!! Come May 29th at 11:30 am I will have surgery for gastric bypass and help my hernia. He said he isn't going to repair the hernia just yet as it will come back after all the weight loss, but he will get the stuck intestine out and put a stitch in so it won't go back in. That will be a relief in itself from the pain and I won't have to be so careful. I haven't been able to lift more then 5 pounds this past year and half or put any strain at all due to it being very dangerous of cutting the intstines off. So I will be able to lift my girls (Yorkies). YAY!!! The Dr. was very happy when he came into the room cause I lost 56 pounds since Sept., I lost 4 pounds over last week. YAY!!! He asked for 25 pounds so I gave him 56, just couldn't help myself. lol As we were leaving I could hear him over telling all his nurses that I lost so much on my own. :) Sure makes a person feel good when a Dr. was bragging on ya.

That's another reason I am postponing the Chief, due to surgery. The Chief has been in the process for a year now, what's another few more weeks. I do need to finish the secret project before surgery.

I will post the photos of the flowers budding in my yard in a few days, maybe tomorrow. I hope you have a very creative weekend and week.

Week 51 Getting very close to being finished with the feathers. YAY!! I only worked on the Chief for 3 nights this week as I am still working on the surprise stitching. I think I bit off more then I can chew with it. lol I thought it would be a quick stitch was I ever wrong. Hopefully soon I can get back to a more normal schedual on the Chief so I can get him finished. :)

Well tomorrow is the day I go to visit the Surgeon. I am so nervous and so excited. Keeping my fingers crossed and will let you know more when I get home.

It has been up in the 80's all week this past week, just beautiful out there and I have been outside everyday walking the girls one at a time, so actually I am getting two walks in daily. That is a very good thing too.

I did take some photo's of what is in bloom around my yard this week, just haven't taken the time to post them yet. I will get to it this week I promise.

Week 50 I can not believe that I am so close in being finished with the Chief. Almost a year has gone by since I started working on him. I could have finished in 5 months like I did on the previous two Indians I stitched, all three are the same stitching size. I just took my time and didn't push myself on Chief Red Cloud, it's ok cause I have enjoyed myself. Read the previous post to find out where I have been.

I went and got weighed today, the first time since September and I have lost 52 pounds. YAY!!! I am calling the surgeon Monday and hopefully I can get an appointment soon with him. He wanted me to loose only 25 pounds to have surgery so I gave him 52 instead. YAY! I am so excited about that, and to think I am almost hernia free, pain free. I can't believe it.

I have been feeling so good lately that I have actually been walking both of the girls to the back of our lot. We have a fairly large backyard and the girls love to walk. Been taking one at a time cause they pull and want to go in their own directions, so by taking them one at a time I am actually walking it twice for me. It's ok as it gives me more exercise and strengthening my legs.

Guess who went into Hobby Lobby yesterday and walked all the way back to the cross stitch aisle. I was surprised that I could do that and it felt so good. I didn't have to stop and rest nor sit down back in the fabric area. YAY!!

I will try to take some photos of all the bloomings that are going on here. My lawn front and back has already been mowed once and is needing it again. Love this time of year.

Best go as I have a surprise to get kitted up, can't talk about it until it has been recieved which will be soon. Hope you have a great weekend and even a greater week ahead!

Weeks 46-49 and I am stitching again. YAY! You may have noticed by now that I haven't been posting anything lately, well I have been sick. My diabetes was running out of control, but am doing great with the meds I am on now. Also this hernia I have was causing severe pain, that would keep me bent doubled. The hernia has my intestines caught up in it so I have to have surgery to repair it. ugg Have been trying to hold off as long as possible but it looks like the time has come to get it fixed. But the main thing now is that I am back to stitching. YAY!!!

In the above photo of Chief there isn't much done but it is a start back in the right direction. I took it slowly and didn't push myself, so there isn't much progress. Wait until you see next weeks.

Also during this time period I celebrated my Mom's 70th Birthday. YAY!!!! I baked her a Lemon cake with Lemon Icing, it was a Duncan Hines mix from Walmart and not from scratch. I got all the ingredients out and started mixing away, I get to the part where it says add 3 eggs. I look around the counter, the drawers and no eggs. Where are the eggs?? I couldn't find them at all so I asked my Mom, nope she didn't take them. Then it hit me, I put the eggs in the bowl to get them out of my way while I did something else real quick and sure enough under the cake mix, the oil and the water there the 3 eggs where hiding. lol I couldn't believe I lost the eggs. The cake did turn out fine and in fact Mom ate some warm cake fresh out of the oven without the icing, that's her favorite way of eating cake. I don't really care for sweets so it didn't really matter to me.

C is for Castle

C is for Castle! Got this done over the weekend and it's stitched on 32 ct. Hand-Dyed Jobelan and the color is Summer Sky. It is so light blue that it isn't shown justice here. Also, there are white C's up above the castle, but since the fabric is light they don't show up, not even holding it in person. I should have done the white C's in shades of blue. Now on to D, wonder what D is for!

Zebra's

This is an eye glasses holder. My Walmart store has had these before Christmas in it's Optical Department. There are different kind of animals, a Giraffe, horse, an Old Man, a fish and several other type. This was on my wish list for Christmas and since I didn't get one then I put it on my list for my Birthday in January, nope didn't get it then either. Last night as I was on my way out I saw them sitting there and they were getting low. I first got the Giraffe already to leave and looked and saw a Zebra, since my love for horses and a Zebra is technically a horse I exchanged it. lol BTW those are not my glasses they are reading glasses 2.25 and are women reading glasses, but since I can't see the 32 count good enough with my glasses I put these over top mine and waa la I can see the 32 count.

Week 45 I am finished with 3 pages now and am doing the Happy Dance. YAY!!! Woohoo!!! I can't believe that I have finally finshed 3 pages. Sure does feel good too. I am currently over 3/4 done. Page 4 is less then a fourth and have already made progress on it. Chief Red Cloud's face is finished.

I didn't get to post yesterday as I took my Mom out to visit one of her older brothers, then we went to WalMart to grocery shop. It poured the rain when we got out of the car to the entrance and both looked like drowned rats by the time we got inside. Nothing like shopping while your wet. lol The rain did prevent a lot of people coming out but it was still fairly croweded in the store. While in the store we ran into several relatives, the only place I see any of the relatives anymore is in Wally World and I have bunches of them too.

My snow is all gone now, so sad. Thursday it was so warm out that I drove the car through the automatic car wash and drove around with the window down, felt like spring, no coat no nothing. Just a perfect day, then Friday it rained. Never fails when I pay money to wash the car it rains. grrr But Thursday ended my snow, oh well it is time.

Week 44 and look how close I am to being finish with page 3. YAY!!!! I know I will start page 4 this coming week. So exciting to see the end in site. Page 4 isn't a full fourth of the project, it is a lot less. YAY!!!! In the small photo you can see just how much is left, it shouldn't take much more then one evening.

I had to take my girls (my Yorkies) for their yearly shots on Monday. They both did extremely well with the complete exam and the injections. It was so hot in the room that I had to take Peajib outside to get cooled off while they examined Izzy. Izzy met a Schnauzer and she streched her nose out and barely touched his nose, it was just a friendly hello. Izzy would have loved to have gotten to play but I am very leary of other dogs around mine, maybe I am over protected.

Thursday I took my Mom over to her Heart Dr. and he said her heart is about the same and he thought most of the problems now with the shortenss of breath etc... is coming from her Emphysema. Got the oxygen place to bring her a couple more oxygen tanks today as she finished one tank yesterday and working on the last tank now. So we are set now for awhile.

We are gettin hit by a snow storm, ice storm right now. I snapped a photo of the SandCherry Tree in my front yard. It's just too cool to see all the snow and ice on the branches.

It's Friday so that means it's Sci-Fi Friday on the Sci-Fi Channel. YAY!! But I think it's down to just one show now "Stargate Atlantis". I miss the old Sci-Fi Fridays, for 3 hours you had Stargate SG1, Stargate Atlantis and Battlestar Galetica. Oh well everything changes.

Week 43 and I am working on the border on page 3. YAY!!!! Yippeee!!! Looks like I have a lot done already but looks are deceiving. I have a lot of white on white to do now. All the white around the border needs to be filled in with white. I don't have to do it as the chart doesn't call for it, but I decided it would look more finished and when it gets framed you won't see the fabric. The previous two Indian's Nez Perce Tribes Woman and the Sioux Warrior were all filled in as you can see on my multiply site 2004 and 2005 so that is why I am filling the white in on this one to make all 3 have 53,000 stitches each. WHEW!

On the left is a close up of the border. Bunches of white to be stitched but this is a lot easier then the white mixed with grey on the head band.

On the right shows just how large the Chief really is. Can't wait to start on the final page.

Week 42 Surprise I finally got my update on Friday actually on Friday for a change. lol Hopefully I can keep it up. I thought I would show the bottom right corner instead of taking it out of the Q-snap and showing the entire project again. I got the corner done, YAY!!! Now I just need to do the border across the bottom left and I will get to start on the final page. YAY!!! Yippeeee!!!

Week 40 A little further along. I am keeping my finger crossed that I can finish the main part and begin working on the border on page 3. Then before you know it will begin working on page 4, but I know that won't happen this week.

Week 39 I was going to say I didn't get much done this past week, but I think I got a little more then I thought. YAY!!!! There were a few days I didn't work on it though.

I went the 21 st of January and had some blood work done, checking my diabetes. I did the 12 hour fasting and my reading from all the blood work was 329 at the clinic. I checked with my meter and the reading was 489. YIKES!!! No wonder I have blurred vision and am just so tired all the time. My Dr. put me on Metformin 500 mg twice a day. So hopefully it at will settle back down soon.

I am starting another project with Barb and Glenda an Erica Michaels Book Sampler. I am already so messed up and confused on this one. Luckily Barb has pointed me into the correct direction and I better close for now as I have to go see the FROG!!!! eek!

Weeks 37 & 38 and the photo is a little dark. Sorry about that. It feels good to get back into a routine since all the holidays. Three right there together, Christmas, New Years, my Birthday whew! No more until April 6th and that is my Mom's Birthday. I did manage in these past two weeks to get over into color. Love the blues and probably will be out of them tonight. But that's ok as I am making progress again. I did have a fall over last weekend went face first into the kitchen floor. lol Just all bruised up and sore was all, it could have been worse but thank goodness it wasn't. Hope your stitching week will be good to you.

I changed my blog name to Horse Feathers. I never did like Shy Guy Ramblings at all and it just never seem to fit except that I am very shy. But the name just wasn't right for me. Surprise!!! I am finally posting my WIP for the past 3 weeks, Dec. 28th and Jan. 4th & 11th. That makes this 34, 35 and 36 weeks. I haven't stitched any since Christmas Eve, but I am so ready to start back. I have finally got all the Christmas Decorations down and put away. Also I am working on showing you what I got for Christmas and my Birthday as of stitching related items. Hopefully by next week I will be back stitching again. YAY!!!

I have a real glass topper but that one strand up there to set the topper on is extremely wobbly so I am not going to chance it.

Ta Da I finished this Wednesday night. YAY! This is why I had no update for Cheif Red Cloud for Week 30. I just couldn't put Rejoice down cause I was so close to being finished. I washed it last night and ironed it today. The photo don't do it justice but the colors are so wonderful. Next week Chief will be updated.

Rejoice Always is coming along nicely too. Since I got a brighter photo this time you can see how the colors are. I worked on it some before I posted today and almost have the border completed. All that's left is the backstitching. YAY!!

Week 27 is this ever going to be finished???? Got to work on some color this week and not just all browns. Almost half finished of page 3, YAY!!! Hopefully I can finish page 3 by the end of the year and do the final page next year. I am going to try to pick up my pace and try to get more done every day.

Got a lot stitched on Rejoice Always. I stitched on it Friday and Saturday and will this week too since I still don't have a center point for the Msal 2, maybe next Friday I will get the center point so I can start on it. So far there are only two reindeer to stitch.

Someone was sleepy and I wouldn't just leave her alone by snapping a few photos of her. She's just too cute with her legs and paws hanging over the edge of her bed.

Week 26 a little progress this week. All I wanted to do this week was sleep and sleep and more sleep. Don't know what it is but I want to sleep now too. There were a few days I didn't work on the Chief and the days I did were'nt for very long periods.

I didn't work on Rojoice Always last Saturday like I planned. The Christmas Msal was a day late so that put me a day late stitching which is ok. I got the new Christmas Msal 2 yesterday and since there was no reference to a center point on it I decided to work on Rejoice last night. YAY!!! I will also stitch on Rejoice tonight too, then it will be a two day update when I post it.

The new Christmas Msal is printed out and all there is on it is a reindeer. I think it's the bottom left but without that center mark I have no clue. I thought it best to wait until next week to find out what the second part looks like before I had to frog a lot.

Finally cooler weather here. YAY!!! It's been getting down in the 20's and 30's at night. They are predicting snow for this coming week (fingers crossed)! I can remember Thanksgiving with a lot of snow on the ground and Halloween with a skiff of snow too.

Week 25 and my how time flies by. Finally some color other then brown, white, grey or red. There were a couple of nights I didn't get to work on the Chief. I rarely work on it the day I do the mopping around here as it just wears me out. No excuse though.

Rejoice is coming along nicely, I sure can't wait to finish it as well as the Chief. I only work on Rejoice one night a week, but I have a finish and will now work two nights on Rejoice.

That's right you heard me say I have a finish. YAY!!! I finished the Christmas Msal 1 from my yahoo group CSE. I was the first to post the finished photo as well. YAY!!!! I can't wait until Eva starts next week on the Christmas Msal 2. Oh wait I can't work on Rejoice twice a week as I forgot about the new msal coming up. Oh well it will on be for four fridays so that shouldn't take long.

Week 24 and everything went well this week on the Chief. I didn't work on it last night (Thurs.) as I was just too tired from all the running around I did on Wed. & Thur. Hopefully this week will be better to get more work completed.

Rejoice Always was easy to work on this week as well, still a lot of work left to do, and should get a lot finished tomorrow night. It finally looks like a bird this week.

Some good news this week. I took my Mom over to her pulmonary Doctor Thursday to get the results of all the cat scans and pet scans she had done recently. The tests showed negative for cancer in her lungs. YAY!!! YIPPEE!!!! What a relief that is. We already knew she has severe emphysema and has to wear oxygen at nights the Dr. now wants her to wear oxygen during the day while she exerts herself walking etc... She don't need to wear it while she is sitting though. I am relieved that the spots on her lung are not cancerous, he thinks it is scar tissue from where she had TB as a child.

Week 23 and getting excited again about stitching the Chief. No problems at all this week, thank goodness. The fabric is so large that I have to place the entire peice against the back of my chair to snap the photo.

This is day 3 of Rejoice Always. I had originally planned on working on it every day before 4 pm, but that hasn't worked out so I am just stitching on it one day a week. I will work on Rejoice tonight and show you next week what I have done.

I have started a new project, a Christmas Msal from one of the yahoo groups I am a member of. I will get the next part Friday the 19th, it only takes one evening to stitch up.

I found this photo of our water tower on The Safe Drinking Water Trust website. It's under just for fun with numerous water towers from all over the states. Some of the towers have been put into a 2008 calendar, our little ole apple tower made it into the calender. It's just too cool isn't it. I have no idea who decided to paint this tower as it has been painted since I was kid. I do remember back in the late 80's they were going to tear down the apple tower, but there was such an outcry from the townsfolk that it remains here today. YAY!!!

Week 22 No problems this week other then me being a lazy stitcher. I should have been further along but I took a couple nights off from stitching. Sometimes I just need to rest the eyes, it probably would help if I got new glasses. I have had the script since May for them but just never had the money to get them.

Rejoice Always has 3 afternoon stitching on it. I noticed on the pattern that it has a lot of back stitching and I mean a lot. Just about everything is outlined. It will probably take me a week or longer for the back stitching. YIKES!!! I know how to pick them don't I... lol

Week 21 and not exactly a lot of stitching this week, but I did at least get some work in on Chief Red Cloud. YAY!!! Also got started on Rejoice Always, not much but at least it's a start.

Went into Wal-Marts on Wednesday and went to the Craft Dept. I had heard through some of the yahoo groups that I belong too that the floss was on sale for 10 cents a skein and sure enough it was at mine too. It had already been picked over so most of the colors were gone. I managed to get 219 skeins of what was left, that's duplicate colors and sometimes 3 or 4 of the same colors. Thought I could just hold it back until I needed it. Sadly the sales lady said that Wal-Marts is doing away with the entire Craft Dept. including the fabric too, and she proceeded to tell us to keep our eyes open for the sales.

It's really sad that Wal-Marts is doing this as we are a small town and now there is no place locally that sells floss. I will have to drive to the next town over which is 35 miles away or order it online, either way I will be losing cause I would have to pay gas one way or postage the other way, so it's really got me in a jam. I am sure that I am not the only one. Thanks MR. BIG BUSINESS!!

Week 20 and I am over the HALF WAY MARK! Yippeeeee, YAY!!!! WOO HOO!!! I am doing the Happy Dance. lol I have done two other Indian designs the exact same size as this one and they took 5 months to complete, I am beginning to think this one is going to take longer. lol Actually I stitched on them about 8 hours a day but now I am only stitching 2 to 3 hours a day, guess I am getting slower in my old age. Oh well when it get's done it get's done.

I am thinking about doing another project and work on it during the day only and the Chief at night in my normal time slot. I have it already just need that little push to start it. The design is Rejoice Always.

Week 19 update! I think I jinxed myself as you can see I did not get it finished this week. :( But I have it so close I know it will be finished by next Friday. Also I will be working on page 3 this coming week. YAY!!!! It's amazing how it's coming together, if you look in my online photo album under WIP you can see my progress from week 10 to the current date.

The small photo to the right shows you how much I have left on page 2. Not much there to do, just the border and some white on white again, but I think this is the last of white on white for a while, or at least I am hoping. Wish me luck this week to start on page 3 this week. YAY!!!

On the none stitching news front, I went to the Surgeon Monday and I am 25 pounds over where he wants me. GRRRR I had gained 45 pounds of the 53 pounds I lost, it's all due to those horrible steroids I had to take for the rash. Guess what I still have the rash. Go figure! The surgeon laughed and said "What was my family Dr. trying to do Sabotage us." Anyway he said it was too dangerous being above a certain level and lose the 25 pounds and I can have the surgery. So he put me on a liquid diet. It isn't bad and I can eat some too. I have a liquid meal replacement called HMR, the chocolate is yummy almost taste like a chocolate milk shake, the vanilla isn't as good, but if I put some extra vanilla flavoring in it and a dash of peanut butter it is pretty good then. Oh it's ok for the peanut butter cause it is protein. Here's my new eating schedule. It's a 1200 daily calorie intake.

Breakfast: 1 HMR shake
mid morning snack: 1 HMR shake, medium apple
Lunch: 1 HMR shake, small salad with 2 tbsp of low fat dressing
mid afternoon snack: 1 HMR shake
Dinner: Healthy Choice dinner (or Weight Watchers meal etc...) under 300 calories
evening snack: 1 HMR shake

4 days on the plan and I have lost weight, YAY!!!!

Week 18 and what a long 18 weeks it has been too. I only have about a fourth left and I will be finished with half of the Chief. YAY!!! I can't wait either. Do you think I can do it this week? I hope so as I really want to go on and do other projects. I didn't stitch Monday night as I was down in the back all week from mopping the floors. My back is doing great now so maybe I can stitch up a storm.

Mom got her stitches out from where Peajib bit her. YAY!! Peajib is out of quarantine and was checked out by her Vet which cost me $30 more. grrrr But she has to charge as it is her business and State Law that she check the dogs out. So while Peajib was there she got her nails clipped and her gland pushed, a good bill of health. The little stinker even kissed Dr. Cindy. lol

Week 17 and getting closer to being half done. YAY!!! I think I am going to think twice before I take on such a large project again as I am getting bored with this one. Don't want to start another project just yet as I would have the fear of hearing my Mom's words coming into my head "You never finish what you start!!" So that is why I don't have more then one project going at the same time. Strange how childhood can come back to haunt you during your adult life. lol

Vicious Dog

Does this look like the face of a Vicious Dog? My County Health Department thinks so. On August 21 this past Monday night she bit me and bit my Mom. It wasn't her fault at all, she was scared and in pain so she did what only animals do, they bite. Some how her harness got wrapped around her leg and I went to help remove it. She nailed me cause I was hurting her more as it was twisted so tight. My Mom gets up and comes to help me and of course she got nailed too. My Mom is on blood thinner due to her heart and she was still bleeding the next afternoon. She went to the Dr. and got 3 stitches in finger. The Dr. told her he was sorry but he had to report it to the Health Department. grrrr. Today I get a letter from the County Health Department addressed to me since Peajib is actually my dog.

Dear me, On August 21, 2007 your DOG is reported to have BITTEN or otherwise potentially exposed my Mom to the rabies virus who resides at our address. You are ordered to have your animal confined or quarantined under a veterinarian's care or on your own premises until August 31, 2007. Confinement of your animal means, in this case to prohibit contact of the animal under your control to the public. If this animal should die or be killed or exhibit unusual behavior or show any signs or illness before the end of the confinement period, report it IMMEDIATELY to the County Health Department and your veterinarian. Preserve the carcass on ice or by refrigeration, DO NOT DAMAGE THE HEAD.

Further, NO DOG OR CAT SHALL BE RELEASED FROM CONFINEMENT UNTIL IT HAS A CURRENT RABIES VACCINATION. It is the recommendation of the Ohio Department of Health that ferrets also be vaccinated when released from confinement. If your animal is a dog or cat you must supply proof that your animal has a current rabies vaccination, or that the vaccination was given after August 31, 2007.

Failure to comply with this procedure will be in a violation of Section 3701-3-29 of the Ohio Administrative Code and Regulations of the County Health Department which states "no owner, keeper or harborer of a dog, cat or ferret that is four (4) months of age or older shall fail to have such animal currently vaccinated against rabies by or under the supervision of a veterinarian" will result in legal action. Thank you for you cooperation.

I have to take the form they sent me to the veterinarian to get it signed plus I had to pay $40. WHAT!!!!! My dog does not have rabies, she is never outside and the only other animal she has contact with is her daughter Izzy whom never has contact with any other animal either. Peajib was provoked by me, she is a Yorkie and Yorkies are aggressive since they were produced to fight RATS! grrrr I do know one thing they can fine me or whatever they want, but they will NEVER GET MY DOG FROM ME! Maybe I shouldn't say that, but it's how I feel at the moment.

Week 15 and finally updated here. At least I didn't wait until Tuesday before I updated this time. haha I will try to be more on a schedule and do my updates on Fridays like I use too. No problems this week, just need to spend more time stitching and not online. The lighter area's your seeing are streaks of sunshine coming in through the window, it is not a stain or anything. I would absolutely cry if it was a stain.

Week 14 and finally I am temporarily out of the white. Have very little of the brown to do before it runs into the horn on the right side. Then some light grey over where the feathers are, then back to the white. ugggg!

I didn't stitch for two days this past week as someone (I am not naming) has been addicted to online gaming again. I downloaded Super Collapse 3 and am to the last level. Wohoo! Don't know why it's so addicting all you do is click on these colored blocks before they reach the top of the screen.

Some great news now. I got a call from the surgeon's office and have an appointment Sept. 10th. YAY!!!! Finally after everything I have gone through this past 10 months to get this far and it's time to meet the surgeon. That means surgery will possibly be soon and it's just in time as this hernia in the center of my stomach is hurting again so that will be repaired and the gastric bypass will be done at that time too. YAY!!! I am just so excited right now. Will keep you updated as when the surgery will be.

On the face front, my rash or whatever it is on my face has disappeared some. YAY!!! Strange after 3 series of steroids it comes right back after I finish them and now it is going away on it's own. Oh well as long as it goes away and stays away then that is all that matters. At least I don't look like I have Chicken Pox or Measles on my face now.

The heat has been HORRENDOUS here with temps up in the high 90's and some days 102 degrees. Thank goodness for the air conditioner cause it's hot, hot, hot and very humid out there. We had a thunderstorm last night and it poured the rain, so you would have thought it would have cooled it down today, NOT! It's still hot and humid out there today, I looked earlier and the temp was 99 degrees. See why I like the snow and cold at least I can cover up when it's too cold but in the heat like this you can only do so much.

Week 12 and page 1 is finished. YAY!!! YIPPEEEE!!!!! Page one is the largest page as it also includes some off page 2 and page 3, so I am actually a little over 1/4th completed. WHEW!!!! That's the hard part is finishing page one. I am almost all the way across the top. If you look at the left side then you can tell just about where I am on the right side. Week 11 and all that is left on the Chief is white, white and more white. It's ok as I know that I am so close to being finished with the first page of 4 pages and it will be slightly over 1/4th completed. Hopefully tonight I can make a huge dent in it. YAY!!!!

Got my new Q-Snaps Monday, the size 11x11 and have been using them and I love them. The 11x17 are just too large and I couldn't hold on to them. But these are just perfect and am wondering now what did I do without them before. Oh yeah I remember, but I am not going back to the hoops. :)

Three more days of being on the steroids DexPak 1.500mg. This medicine is a corticosteroid used to treat severe allergies, arthritis, asthma, and skin conditions. I have the severe allergy and skin problem. I look like I have the measles, hopefully this will take care of that and keep it off me. The side effects of the medicine is difficulty sleeping, nervousness, increased appetite, indigestion, nausea, swelling feet, hands, legs, mood, mental or personality changes, eye problems, headache, muscle aches, dizziness, trouble breathing and that's just to name a few. Guess which side affects I have had so far? All of them. :( Just checked and I have 5 more pills to take, WHEW!!!!!!!! So this hasn't been a good week for me.

Bad news yesterday, Thursday. Took my Mom over to her Pulmonary Doctor and he read the results of her Cat Scan. She has Severe Emphysema and some growths on one of the nodules. I have suspected this for a long long time and now we know. He is going to do another test a PET Scan and then in October do another Cat Scan to compare and if it's worse then he will go in and do a biopsy on the growth. He gave her a couple of prescriptions yesterday and a Nebulizer was delivered today.

Peajib and Izzy got there haircut Monday and the woman cut it too short. Izzy has never had hair this short and it don't look like her. Peajib's hair get's so tangled that it had to get buzzed off. Maybe I can keep up on it this time so she don't go around bald. Poor little Peajib has to wear a sweatshirt cause she is FREEZING! Izzy is hot blooded so it probably is cooling her down some. Peajib on the left and Izzy on the right. They were so good that they got a new toy out of the deal. A tiny toy hippo.

Week 10 update on Chief Red Cloud and color is starting to appear again. YAY!!!! I have one small band of red and then the rest will be white and light grey on white. YUCK! I can hardly contain the excitement I feel about that.

I tried the Q-snaps out last week and guess what, I love em but I got the wrong size as a 11x17 is just way to bulky to handle. So I ordered a set of 11x11 from Down Sunshine Lane. YAY!!! I love shopping there, Amy is just the nicest.

It's storming here again for the umpteenth time this week so I am shutting the system down. Hope all has a great weekend and a great stitching week.

Week 9 and Chief Red Cloud wasn't worked on much this week. I did manage to do a little on it but not the normal amount I had been. That's ok as sometimes working on a large project you just need to get away from it for a short break and that way you will appreciate it more when you return to it. I will start back on it tonight and guess who bought some Q-snaps yesterday. I am so anxious to give them a try that I already loaded the fabric in it. I bought the 11 x 17 q-snaps as Hobby Lobby only had the two sizes 11x17 and 17x17 didn't think I would need the larger ones but now wish they had the smaller ones. Speaking of Hobby Lobby I am so disappointed with them as they didn't have much Cross Stitching supplies like they use too and they even put part of the aisle in knitting supplies and crocheting supplies. I can't do them and don't know who does. I did get to see the DMC specialty floss but at a $1.99 a skein I had to pass on that unfortunately, but looking at it was exciting. YAY!!!!

Hot Cocoa Sampler finish

Ta da I am finished with the Hot Cocoa Sampler. I love working on the 28 ct. Lugana. Must admit that I had to use my handy dandy HUGE magnifing glass in order to see all the tiny holes. But that's ok as it got the job done. I have 3 mistakes on this piece and no I am not pointing them out to you either. I decided not to frog all of it either as no one knows the mistakes but me, just don't look too close please. lol All and all I loved working on this and can't wait to do the Cherry Cheesecake Sampler and Casey has two freebies on her website Chocolate Covered Cherries Sampler and Eggnog Sampler Ornament down towards the bottom of the page. DMC Mentoring Program

I have been a DMC Mentor for several years now. When I joined I knew I would never get to use the little kit they sent me to inspire someone and the cute little lapel pin was just well too cute to turn down and would make a nice addition to my lapel pin collection. I found out two weeks ago that my dietitian Sarah wanted to learn Cross Stitch and Quilting. WooHooo I got to actually use the mentoring kit. I was ecstatic to be able to pass my passion on to a someone else. While I taught Sarah I actually stitched one too but I did something more by backstiting all of it just to show Sarah what a difference it could make. Since Thursday was my last appointment with Sarah I did give her the little piece I backstitched for a reference when she actually finishes the piece. Hopefully I taught Sarah some of the basics of cross stitching and do hope she will keep working at it and become a full fledge cross stitcher. Thank you Sarah for all your help and getting me prepared for my upcoming surgery. YAY!!

Hot Cocoa Sampler by Casey Buonaugurio

I have started doing a SAL with Barb at Around Barb's Bend. This little design is the Hot Cocoa Sampler by Casey Buonau gurio. The design calls for 28 ct. Lugana Cocoa Bean from Sugar Maple Fabrics stitched 2 over 2, with a stitch count of 38W x 93H and a finished size of 2 3/4 x 6 1/2. This is my first time stitching with Lugana and so far I really like the fabric. Just have to be on my toes and make sure I count my holes as it is so easy to miss one. I always enjoy trying new fabric and colors. The only thing I can get locally is White Aida, boring, boring, boring. When a chart calls for a specific fabric I try to get it if possible. In the photo you will see where I am after day one and the fabric and floss.

Week 8 and I am across the top
with the border. Just need to bring it down to fill in the gap and page one will finished. About another week or two and page one will be done. YAY!! That will be slightly over 1/4th of finished design as page one has some from page 2 and page 3 on it.

There is going to be a lot more white on white with the feathers on the head dress and that is driving me BONKERS!!!!! In the second photo you can see the white on white better. I missed 2 days of stitching this week unfortunately. Am so excited about this one and can't wait for a finish. YAY!!! YIPPEEEE!!!!

Am doing the Happy Dance this week as I have lost 7.5 more pounds for a grand total of 52.5 pounds loss. :) Need I say more about how I feel!

Cross Stitch and Men - Crossing the Gender Barrier

Cross-stitch is not just an activity for women. Plenty of men love to pull out those needles and flosses to cross-stitch projects that they enjoy. For most men who cross-stitch it is about creating "art" or having a special interest in the design… and of course Cross Stitch is wonderfully therapeutic when it comes to de-stressing.

For some it is just not "manly" to call it a "craft". While men do not make up a large percentage of cross-stitchers, they most certainly do exist. Yet, many people wonder about men who like to cross-stitch, and it brings up a number of interesting questions:

Are Men Better then Women... at Cross-Stitch?
The simple answer to this question is that of course men are not better then women, just as women are no better than men either. Cross-stitching is a learned skill, and any person who cross-stitches is only as good as they allow themselves to be. Practice, practice, and more practice make a person a better cross-stitcher, not their gender.

Do Male Cross-Stitch Designers Exist?
Yes! Of course there are male designers. Why ever not? Cross-stitch design is an art form and certainly not restricted to the female gender. There are many men involved in creating their own cross-stitch patterns. For some it is a direct offshoot of their art - like Thomas Kinkade. For others, they are part of a design business, like the husband and wife team at Heartland House. Men are involved in designing and bringing you some of the great cross-stitch patterns. Some cross-stitch designers are also fashion designers and use their thread and floss to create patterns on the attire that they create.

Which Patterns are Popular with Men?
Men tend to choose more art-like patterns than women. They may not be as open to you choosing a teddy bear pattern for a pillow.

Often men are drawn to the things they like. If a man likes sports, he may choose a kit that represents his sports team. If a man is into architecture, then he may choose to cross-stitch a pattern based on Frank Lloyd Wright. There are even some gamers that have cross-stitched their favorite video game characters.

Other men use cross-stitch to create designs on their clothing, too. If you are choosing a pattern to give to a man, then you should take a look at what they like. Go with their interests.

How Do Men Get Into Cross-Stitch?

This question really depends on the man. Some men get involved simply because someone they love does it. A little boy may have wanted to do what his mother was doing. A man may help his wife finish a project only to find he liked it. Other men need something to do, and it is a craft just lying around. Often men do not find that they seek out cross-stitching, but it finds them one way or another. Some men believe it makes them look attractive to women, so they use it as a way to "pick someone up".

How Do I Handle a Man Who Wants to Cross-Stitch?

Embrace it. It takes a lot of courage for a man to put aside an image of masculinity to admit they want to try a "girly" craft. If the man is a significant other, then take pride in the fact that your man wants to share something with you. If it is a young man, then encourage the creativity that will come from the craft.

It is not often that men can put away the machismo to do something enjoyable like cross-stitch, so open up and be willing to teach and inspire. Who knows… the cross-stitching man in your life may find a way to inspire you too!

Down On The Farm

A local area business man passed yesterday. Bob Evans 1918-2007 the founder of Bob Evans Restaurant. He started a small simple little restaurant 53 years ago and turned it into a billion dollar enterprise.

The original restaurant and the famous farm are just down the road from me about 15 miles or so.

One of the TV commercials from the 1960's starred a kid that lived in the house across the street from me. This was the first time I heard the famous "Down on The Farm" saying.

Not only was Bob Evans famous for his restaurants but he also sold sausages in your local Grocery Stores tasting just like Mom's fresh from the farm.

Brian Williams on NBC nightly news mentioned about Bob yesterday and brought my little area here in Southeastern Ohio into the spotlight. Bob was from Rio Grande, pronounced "Rye-O Grand" rather then the traditional Spanish pronunciation so that it rhymes with "Ohio."

Uh the map left my town off of it. GEESH! See where 32 meets 35, that is where I am located.

Week 7 and finally reached the top on the right side. YAY!!!! Now on over to the right and down then I can begin the second part of the top portion. I am beginning to see an end to the very first page of the chart. Yippeeeeeeeee! If you think not much was done this week, look a little closer cause there are a lot of white on white. uggggg

LNS shopping

I had to go to Columbus Wednesday which is about 90 miles from my home. I thought while I was up there I could check out the LNS. I went online and found 2 stores, printed driving directions and found the first store. Cross My Heart a very nice small store. I did manage to buy a few items, 4 magazines and 3 different color and types of fabrics since I am sick of stitching on plain old white Aida. Now I can't wait to find a pattern for them. I was a little upset when I got home and was going through my new items. Two of the magazines where supposed to be half off and they charged me full price. grrrr One of the Ladies that works there told me that everything in the one corner was half off with a round sticker on them. It would cost me way too much to go all the way back up there for the half price refund as gas is $3.09 here, so it isn't worth it. I will just have to pay closer attention when I go back. I already have the magazines marked for the charts that I really want to do. The other store Paw Prints Cross Stitch I could never find. So I gave up and came home.

Week 6 and not even close to being finished with page one. Not even sure if I can say I am half done. It's a good thing I am not in a hurry. I have noticed something that I should have done was use 3 strands of DMC instead of 2 as it isn't covering the fabric completely. Next time I will. haha

I did this little project as a SAL with my gal pals Barb and Glenda. It was a fast little project and gave me such a nice little break from Chief Red Cloud. Thanks to both Glenda and Barb for doing this little SAL with me. I had a blast!

Chief Red Cloud 6-01-07

Week 4 and this is where I am at. It doesn't look like I did a whole lot, but when working with white on white it moves real slow. But that is ok as I am not in a hurry to be completed. When I get this page finished I will have slightly over a fourth completed. :-)

Thought I would show you my work station in the below photo. You will notice that I use an Ott-Lite, my Auntie V and my Mom got me for Christmas one year and I love it. It makes the colors so vivid and bright, sure does help the old eyes. I use a folding table well actully two of them, one for the floss and the other for the chart. The chart is in my seweing box, I Decoupaged an old cigar box and put clothes pins on it then sit the chart down in it. Sure does hold the chart up perfectly so I can stitch away. Ignore the other miscellaneous items as they are bills to pay, unless you want to pay them for me. haha

Week 3 and am making progress on Chief Red Cloud. Did manage to get all the way to the left side and am at the border now. YAY!! Yippeee! Now I need to go up to the corner. I didn't work on this for 2 days this week, just needed a little break. I got my new glasses yesterday and will try them out tonight to see how they are to stitch with. I think they will be fine as I can SEE better with them. lol

1. I accidentally hung myself when I was a kid. I fell out of a tree and the back of my T-shirt caught on a branch stub and the T-shirt ripped as far as it was going too, hanging me in the tree. If it wasn’t for one of my cousins that ran to the house to get help I wouldn’t be here today.

2. Was bitten by a RAT when I was a kid. Just trying to help the rat out of an old feed barrel we had and the ungrateful rodent turned around and bit me. No one believed me that a rat bitten me until I showed them the rat still in the barrel. Almost had to take rabies shots.

3. I was a little dare devil on my dirt bike growing up. Had several close calls then. GEESH I am dangerous!!!

4. Graduated College with a 3.4 GPA. Sure was a shocker, considering I almost flunked out of elementary and High School. They just bored me. LOL

5. Learned how to drive a car when I was very young, first by sitting in my Mom’s lap, then as I got older and bigger I sat beside her while she pressed herself over into the driver’s door. Then gradually as I got bigger, she disappeared from the driver’s seat to the passenger seat. When I got my driver’s license at 16 I had already been driving for about 8 years. :)

6. Out of my Grandmother’s 43 grandchildren I was her favorite. She had me to place a Yellow Rose in her hands at her funeral to prove it.

7. Am a huge animal nut! All animals!

Week 2 update. Have stitched every night this week. The face is almost finished, except for what is on the other pages, which isn't much. Working on the feather and the head band now. Again this is a 10 inch hoop, so the finished size will be huge. Also will work on moving further to the left then up to the top. Am excited about how this is looking so far. YAY!!

Chief Red Cloud Week 1

The end of week 1 and this is what Chief Red Cloud looks like. You can tell that it's going to be a large project by the size of the face in a 10 inch hoop. It looks a little strange around the eye right now but that will change after tonight. YAY!!

Today was my final day for the 12 week weight lose course and I lost 5 more pounds. YAY!!!!! Total of 27 pounds in a 12 week course, am very proud of myself over that. A Grand total of 40 pounds since November. WOOHOO!!!! Next step is back to OSU and hopefully I can go on to get the surgery over with.

Chief Red Cloud has begun! YAY! This is my third Indian from the book Native American Cross Stitch by Julie Hasler. The first two I gave away The Neze Perce Tribes Woman to my Auntie V and the Sioux Warrior to her daughter Denese. Chief Red Cloud I will keep. The stitched size is 190 x 280 with a total of 53,200 stitches and will take approximately 5 months to complete.

Butterflies Finished

It is finished with all the adjustments I had to make as the vinyl weave is too short. You would never know if I don't point it out. :) The reason I picked the butterflies out were they remind me of my Aunt Barb, she taught me to stitch.

Mouse pad "Butterflies" update

Thought I should post a photo of where I stand on the Mouse pad. Not much more and I will be finished with the main stitching, then it's the back stitching which isn't much. The vinyl weave isn't bad to work with, but I don't think I would want to use it as my main fabric. Uh I have just been informed by the spell check that Mouse Pad is two words not one word like I have been doing. oops!

I think I have spring fever or something, just been too tired (or maybe it's laziness) lately to do anything. My stitching has taken a backseat as well as my blogging. The weather is fantastic here, up in the 70's, 80's and low 90's, without all that blistering heat or humidity. Everything is growing, my Sand Cherry tree has leaves on it as well as the neighbors maple tree. Yup I have Spring Fever and want to be outside with all the pollen.

Upcoming project is going to be the third Indian design by Julie Hasler. It's going to be Chief Red Cloud and I am keeping this one. YAY! It's the same size as the previous two I stitch with 190 x 280 = 53,200 full stitches and no backstitching. It will keep me busy for about 5 months, but in the end it will be well worth it.

Mousepad

Started my new project on the 14th, it's a mousepad using Vinyl Weave, my first time to do anything with this type of material. Can't use a hoop nor scroll rods, it's the good old free hand style, oh yippeee! The photo above is 2 nights of work and I have a huge problem already. Either I counted wrong to find the center or the vinyl weave isn't large enough. After I finished last night I counted over to the right side and guess what it's 4 spaces too short. YIKES!!!! I am not doing the Frog thing and will just have to adjust the chart when I get over to it. The photo below is what it will eventually look like (fingers crossed).

Achoo! Finished

Achoo is finished! I started working on it 2-21-2007 and finished last night 4-10-2007. Did this as a Stitch Along with my friend Glenda (Click on her name to see her blog). She finished the night before me, such a speedster. lol We both agree that working with 5 strands at once isn't all that simple to do. The 5 strands are on the spots that are laying on the floor and they aren't even noticeable unless you actually touch the fabric. Oh well it's done and now we can begin another project. YAY!! Thank you Glenda for doing this Stitch Along with me, it was great FUN!!!!!

Achoo update 4-9-07

Bet you thought I forgot all about my blog by now. Hadn't forgot just didn't take the time to post. Not only that I don't lead the most interesting life either. Oh Yippeee! A party animal I am not. haha

Thought I better post a new photo of Achoo! Am doing the half stitches for the spots and it is a pain. Some of them are 5 strands thick which makes it really hard to work with and the pushing and pulling makes it really hard to manipulate to get through the hole. But all and all it is looking pretty darn good now. Several more spots then the backstitches, then it's time to wash it out, the best part of a finish. Here have a look and let me know what you think.

Oh, you noticed the sun is square. lol I didn't have a button to place there like the pattern called for, so I stitched it on there. A little odd looking, but who said the sun is round? Have you seen it to know for certain? I haven't!

This was a fun project to do and I stitched it on Country French Aida 14 count Cappuccino fabric, which is a pure joy to work with.

Achoo update 3-16-07

I have been MIA in this past week and skipped several days of stitching too. Just seemed like everything was needing to be done at once around here. Had several appointments to go to and the Dentist, I am plum tuckered out now. Oh yeah, 3 more pounds are gone, gone, gone. WOOHOO!

Finally an update on Achoo! Can you believe that I am still not finished with the head of the Dalmatian? Hopefully this coming week I can make a huge dent. Did I tell you that Achoo! is being done as a SAL (stitch along) with Glenda check her out by clicking on her name. She is by far a faster stitcher and a much better stitcher then I am. She hasn't updated where she is currently, I assure you it is a lot more then what the photo there shows.

Tonight I rotate over to the Spring MSAL (mystery stitch along) from one of my yahoo groups, Chatty Stitching Exchangers. I will recieve the final part of the MSAL as soon as I go over and sign in, can't wait to see what it is of.

It's raining here with a temp down in the 30's again. Huge adjustment as it has been up in the high 70's and low 80's this week, I even had the a/c on in the car Wednesday. I'd better get going as it is stitching time and I don't want to miss that.

How Smart Is Your Right Foot? This is so funny that it will boggle your mind. And you will keep trying it at least 50 more times to see if you can outsmart your foot. But you can't.

1. While sitting at your desk, lift your right foot off the floor and make clockwise circles with it.
2. Now, while doing this, draw the number "6" in the air with your right hand. Your foot will change direction.

I told you so...And there is nothing you can do about it. Make sure you pass this on to your friends. They won't be able to do it either.

lesson 5

I lost 2 more pounds. YAY!!! A total of 11 with this program and a grand total of 31 since August and a total of 24 since November when the Dr. wanted me to lose just 15 lbs in 3 months. grrrrr Still upset over that one! If I keep doing this good I may not have the gastric bypass, but then I am having surgery anyway to repair my hernia. Have you seen Star Jones-Reynolds lately, OMGoodness!!!!! She has lost even more then when she left the View. I almost didn't recognize her, so slim now, it's like a completely new person. Maybe I will have my GB surgery while they are in there after all. :) I could be smaller then I never have been before. Now wouldn't that be a hoot!

Achoo! and spring MSAL

The Spring MSAL is coming along nicely. It took me three days to finish part 5 a day longer then any of the other parts. Friday I will get part 6 and then it's one more part and viola it will be completed. Have you noticed the flowers between the two topiary, I did the lazy daisy stitch on them, not the best but it was so much easier then how the chart had it, which you can notice the difference down by the numbers.

Achoo is going great, it's really beginning to look like a dog or uh well a critter at least. You can make out the nose now. It would be further along, but this week has been a slow stitching week for me. Just don't have the drive to push it like my normal routine of stitching late into the night. Instead I have been reading a book by Susan Maria Leach, more on that later.

Want to send a HEY! out to Greg at the 'bent needle . Yup another Greg and a great stitcher too, now how cool is that, two greg's that are stitchers. (to Greg in Nebraska - WOW on the Evangeline, sure is going to be FANTASTIC. My dog's name is Peajib and her daughter Izzy is running around here someplace too.) Keep up the great stitching.

If you notice to the left I have a list of blogs and one is LaGattaC Free Cross Stitch Patterns it's loaded with free legal patterns from all over the world, some good ones and some just ok ones. So load up on them, who knows what the future holds and you just need a small pattern for something or other.

Happy Dance

I lost 7 pounds since last Thursday. WOOHOO!!! YAY!!! YIPPEEEE!!!! I am doing the Happy Dance as the best as I can. lol I was so shocked when she said that. That makes a total of 9 pounds with the Dietitian and a grand total of 29 since September. I can eat what I want, just cut way down on the portion sizes and as far as my exercise it's just walking in the house. I had to get a pedometer to count my daily steps, nothing fancy just a $5 one from Wally World. Oh yeah I gave up my most habitual thing "SODA". I don't miss it either. Not saying I haven't had any, I just don't drink it like water anymore and I drink more Crystal Lite and water now. I have to eat at least 1500 calories a day, it can get hard to get those calories up there too. Basically, what I am doing is not a diet, it's a life change of what I am eating and the amount. Eleven more pounds and the Shrink will ok it for me to have my surgery. But now I am wondering if I am losing weight on my own without being on a diet then why do I want the bypass surgery. Then it hits me I have to have the hernia fixed anyway. Okay 8 more weeks of the course and 11 pounds to go, I can manage that. lol

Last night I started my new project titled Achoo! Can't wait to see it finished. So far no problems have been encountered. It does have a couple of places where I need to blend the thread, but that's no big deal. I have noticed the thinness of the floss that Dimension uses, sure wish they would switch to a better quality of floss like DMC. Of course the stitching in the below photo doesn't look like much, but I spent several hours from 7 pm to 1 am working on that. Ok, so I did watch TV last night. The Oscars were on.

Camera Hunt

I have been having problems with my old HP 935 for a long time now. As per the photos of the Countryside White Church the other night, it is time to get a new one. Monday I was at the Dentist in the next town over and they have a Sam's Club, so I was just curious as to what they had in the digital camera department. Here are the four choices I narrowed it down too.

Casio EXS 600

Hp R827

Samsung L60

Kodak Z710

The top three have a 3x Optical Zoom and the Kodak has a 10x Optical Zoom. The Casio and Samsung have 6 MP and the HP 7.2 MP and the Kodak 7.1 MP. But the Kodak has a 10x Optical Zoom. The top three have a new feature of Anti Shaking, keeping the it steady for shaky hands like mine and the Kodak doesn't. But the Kodak has a 10x Optical Lense. The top three are slim line and you can put in your pocket or anyplace small. But the Kodak has a 10x Optical Lense. The prices are all about the same range. Oh how I don't like deciding on these big decisions like this. But I did decide --------> ta-da ---------> The Kodak Z710, why it has a 10x Optical Zoom lense. :) That makes a huge difference and I need to get a steady hand now.

I thought I should check around and found the same camera's on Amazon.com. Hey it's $20 cheaper then Sam's Club and it has free shipping. By the Way I just checked the tracking and it left New York and is already in Ohio. Woo Hooo. But I also checked the website and whoa it dropped $20 over night. I called Amazon and of course the trained customer service is over seas and don't have very good english. But after telling the woman that it dropped $20.39 over night, she asked if I wanted a refund of that amount put back on my card. HECK YEAH I do! She said it will show up in 2 to 4 business days, and she did email me to confirm the refund amount. Hey, that makes a refund of $40. Woohooo!!! Now I have to keep my fingers crossed and hope nothing goes wrong.

You know your old when?

You know your getting old when you leave yourslef notes. I was doing the backstitching on the Countryside White Church and found a mistake that needed to be corrected before I could go on. It was around 2 am and my eyes where tired so I left the below note and went to bed. A few evenings later I opened everything up and saw the attached note on the chart and forgot all about the mistake. I had to hunt and count and hunt and count for the mistake. Finally I found it after what seemed like an endless search.

The mistake turned out to be only 3 little stitches but they started one stitch too far to the right. I just had to move them over one stitch. The backstitching would not have looked right with the bend to the right. At least it is finished now.

The new Herrschners Needlework Shoppe Catalog is here, 56 pages filled with beautiful new and some old cross stitch supplies. I would love to have a lot of the kits in this catalog, but they are a bit expensive. When I first get the catalog I take a ink pen and circle what I would like to have. I do tend to get carried away because I get the wants and I wants and I wants. Too bad I don't have the funds to get my wants, but then again maybe there is a reason I don't. I did get some new kits and charts recently from Hobby Lobby and will update you as soon as I get a new camera. Here are just a couple of the pages.

My first 2007 finish

It's February 21 and I have finally finished the Countryside White Church that I started way back in October 29, 2006. YAY! Just when I thought it was never going to get done I finished it. I am so happy. It wasn't all that hard to do either, it's all my fault for not getting it done sooner, the months of December and January were horrible around here.

Have you noticed the photos? Well my wonderful HP camera is acting up again. No matter what I do I get stuff like this and it's annoying me. There are a lot more photos that are worse then this too. Until I get a new one enjoy the lovely Hewlett Packard photo, I won't buy another one of their cameras.

It's only Tuesday?

What a week this has already been and it's only Tuesday. TUESDAY!!! I am exhausted already. Monday I had to go to the Dentist over in the next town about 35 miles away. The drive was so awesome seeing all the snow on the ground at least the roads were all cleared. YAY! I don't like going to the Dentist but the goof ball (me) broke a crown. Again! Got my temporary crown on and just waiting for the new fangled gold crown to be made. On the way out of the snow and ice were extremely slick which it normally is. Somehow I managed to stay standing. Can't believe I took the path that lead directly to the ice that was partially hidden by the water. Arms went a waving in the air and the feet and legs were all over the ice. You could tell I never been ice skating before. Well not with ice skates that is.

Monday night, I was so tired from the day's activities and while I was watching TV guess what? My temporary crown popped out. EEK! Today I had to go back over there and this time she used a heavier glue that will make it more permanently. Good luck on getting that temp out. :(

The drive home was HORRIBLE today, pouring rain and the snow melting, flooding everywhere and get this, FOG! The fog is so thick you couldn't drive, but yet there were numerous vehicles passing me as if it was a clear sunny day and when we got to the county line it got worse. Yeah all that water from the snow melt comes south right towards me.

But I knew when I got home that there was something that came in the mail earlier for me, just for me and for no one else only me. I didn't have time to open it when it arrived but did when I got home. It was an manila envelope with my prize for winning Name That Word game from my Yahoo Group CSE. WOOHOO! It's a Blackbird Designs, Loose Feathers Pattern #23.

After many oohs and aahs, I read the note attached. THANK YOU LINDA for sending me such a wonderful prize. I can't wait to do this one. Now how did you know that I would like this? I hope when I have to send the next prize out it will be liked as much as I do this one.

Just two more days for this week and it will be normal around here again, well as normal as it can be. Wednesday Sleep Study Dr., Thursday dietician. At least Wed. is local. I need a nap now.
