    The Movies of Our Lives
I got this little Meme from Glenda who got it from Meari who got it from The Stitching Hour who got it from Musings From a Three Bedroom Ranch who got it from Annette’s Acre who got it from well it just keeps going on back. I went ahead and did the meme as I wondered what I have seen.

    Word of the Day
Have you noticed the word of the day on the left side bottom column. Well today's word is sycophant.

Here's the meaning (sycophant \SIK-uh-fuhnt\, noun:A person who seeks favor by flattering people of wealth or influence; a parasite; a toady.)

Can you think of a person that this word can be applied too? A certain non residential Bohemian, that is in a custody battle of a certain deceased blond model and DNA test of her baby comes to my mind. Am I right? Huh, huh?

    Spring MSAL part 4

Three more parts and the Spring Mystery Stitch Along (MSAL) will be completed. I can't wait!

What, oh, what will be part 5?

Unfortunately I won't get to find out until March 2nd. But that's only 4 days away. :)

    Achoo!

    Achoo!
    Bless you!
Last night I started my new project titled Achoo! Can't wait to see it finished. So far no problems have been encountered. It does have a couple of places where I need to blend the thread, but that's no big deal. I have noticed the thinness of the floss that Dimension uses, sure wish they would switch to a better quality of floss like DMC. Of course the stitching in the below photo doesn't look like much, but I spent several hours from 7 pm to 1 am working on that. Ok, so I did watch TV last night. The Oscars were on.

    Camera Hunt

I have been having problems with my old HP 935 for a long time now. As per the photos of the Countryside White Church the other night, it is time to get a new one. Monday I was at the Dentist in the next town over and they have a Sam's Club, so I was just curious as to what they had in the digital camera department. Here are the four choices I narrowed it down too.

    Casio EXS 600
    Hp R827

    Samsung L60

    Kodak Z710

The top three have a 3x Optical Zoom and the Kodak has a 10x Optical Zoom. The Casio and Samsung have 6 MP and the HP 7.2 MP and the Kodak 7.1 MP. But the Kodak has a 10x Optical Zoom. The top three have a new feature of Anti Shaking, keeping the it steady for shaky hands like mine and the Kodak doesn't. But the Kodak has a 10x Optical Lense. The top three are slim line and you can put in your pocket or anyplace small. But the Kodak has a 10x Optical Lense. The prices are all about the same range. Oh how I don't like deciding on these big decisions like this. But I did decide --------> ta-da ---------> The Kodak Z710, why it has a 10x Optical Zoom lense. :) That makes a huge difference and I need to get a steady hand now.

I thought I should check around and found the same camera's on Amazon.com. Hey it's $20 cheaper then Sam's Club and it has free shipping. By the Way I just checked the tracking and it left New York and is already in Ohio. Woo Hooo. But I also checked the website and whoa it dropped $20 over night. I called Amazon and of course the trained customer service is over seas and don't have very good english. But after telling the woman that it dropped $20.39 over night, she asked if I wanted a refund of that amount put back on my card. HECK YEAH I do! She said it will show up in 2 to 4 business days, and she did email me to confirm the refund amount. Hey, that makes a refund of $40. Woohooo!!! Now I have to keep my fingers crossed and hope nothing goes wrong.

    You know your old when?
You know your getting old when you leave yourslef notes. I was doing the backstitching on the Countryside White Church and found a mistake that needed to be corrected before I could go on. It was around 2 am and my eyes where tired so I left the below note and went to bed. A few evenings later I opened everything up and saw the attached note on the chart and forgot all about the mistake. I had to hunt and count and hunt and count for the mistake. Finally I found it after what seemed like an endless search.

The mistake turned out to be only 3 little stitches but they started one stitch too far to the right. I just had to move them over one stitch. The backstitching would not have looked right with the bend to the right. At least it is finished now.

    It's Here!

The new Herrschners Needlework Shoppe Catalog is here, 56 pages filled with beautiful new and some old cross stitch supplies. I would love to have a lot of the kits in this catalog, but they are a bit expensive. When I first get the catalog I take a ink pen and circle what I would like to have. I do tend to get carried away because I get the wants and I wants and I wants. Too bad I don't have the funds to get my wants, but then again maybe there is a reason I don't. I did get some new kits and charts recently from Hobby Lobby and will update you as soon as I get a new camera. Here are just a couple of the pages.

    My first 2007 finish

It's February 21 and I have finally finished the Countryside White Church that I started way back in October 29, 2006. YAY! Just when I thought it was never going to get done I finished it. I am so happy. It wasn't all that hard to do either, it's all my fault for not getting it done sooner, the months of December and January were horrible around here.

Have you noticed the photos? Well my wonderful HP camera is acting up again. No matter what I do I get stuff like this and it's annoying me. There are a lot more photos that are worse then this too. Until I get a new one enjoy the lovely Hewlett Packard photo, I won't buy another one of their cameras.

    It's only Tuesday?
What a week this has already been and it's only Tuesday. TUESDAY!!! I am exhausted already. Monday I had to go to the Dentist over in the next town about 35 miles away. The drive was so awesome seeing all the snow on the ground at least the roads were all cleared. YAY! I don't like going to the Dentist but the goof ball (me) broke a crown. Again! Got my temporary crown on and just waiting for the new fangled gold crown to be made. On the way out of the snow and ice were extremely slick which it normally is. Somehow I managed to stay standing. Can't believe I took the path that lead directly to the ice that was partially hidden by the water. Arms went a waving in the air and the feet and legs were all over the ice. You could tell I never been ice skating before. Well not with ice skates that is.

Monday night, I was so tired from the day's activities and while I was watching TV guess what? My temporary crown popped out. EEK! Today I had to go back over there and this time she used a heavier glue that will make it more permanently. Good luck on getting that temp out. :(

The drive home was HORRIBLE today, pouring rain and the snow melting, flooding everywhere and get this, FOG! The fog is so thick you couldn't drive, but yet there were numerous vehicles passing me as if it was a clear sunny day and when we got to the county line it got worse. Yeah all that water from the snow melt comes south right towards me.

But I knew when I got home that there was something that came in the mail earlier for me, just for me and for no one else only me. I didn't have time to open it when it arrived but did when I got home. It was an manila envelope with my prize for winning Name That Word game from my Yahoo Group CSE. WOOHOO! It's a
Blackbird Designs, Loose Feathers Pattern #23.

After many oohs and aahs, I read the note attached. THANK YOU LINDA for sending me such a wonderful prize. I can't wait to do this one. Now how did you know that I would like this? I hope when I have to send the next prize out it will be liked as much as I do this one.

Just two more days for this week and it will be normal around here again, well as normal as it can be. Wednesday Sleep Study Dr., Thursday dietician. At least Wed. is local. I need a nap now.

    Lazy Daisy Stitch

I discovered I don't like doing the Lazy Daisy Stitch. It looks so simple and it is, but the end results aren't. I can't get each stitch to look the same. Here are photos of the left and right of the Spring MSAL. Judge for yourself, they STINK! Right? I knew it..... Ok I am going to Frog them now.

    Spring MSAL part 3

WooHoo I have part 3 of the Spring MSAL done. But have to go back and Frog the flowers. The one on the left side is two rows over to the right too far unbalancing the look. I didn't notice it last night when I finished as it was 1:30 am and my eyes where well they were doing their own thing at that time of night. But it's ok as it won't take long to frog it and redo the flowers. I am thinking about doing the Lazy Daisy stitch for both of the flowers instead. Hopefully that will make them look better.

On a happier note I am doing the backstitching on the Countryside White Church. Not much longer and I can say I have a finish for 2007.

    Desktop
Ever wonder what someone else's desktop looks like? I have and I found a way to capture mine so you can have a look. I came across this photo some place on the net and guess what, it's a photo of my favorite all time car. A 1959 Cadillac.

Of course my desktop may not look like this next week as I change mine often, sometimes it's seasonal and sometimes it's whatever mood I am in at the moment. Occasionally it is an old family photo. They don't take up much of that valued real estate on the desktop, so why not.

Oh yeah the program I found was Hello by picasa. It is to help put photos on your blog. Guess what I can't get it to work except to take this photo of my desktop. When you open the program up it says the Blogger Bot is Dead. Apparently he needs to be alive to help you out. GEESH! Oh well I guess some things weren't meant to be. Besides it isn't all that hard to upload the old way.

    Name That Word

I won I won the current Name that Word round in CSE group. YAY YIPPEEEE!! I haven't won for a long time now and thought my winning streak ran out. Didn't know I was saving it up for a rainy day. lol The winning word was "Morning Berries" from Little House Needleworks. I love this pattern and saw it in Linda H.'s photos where she completed it, so I had to find the pattern and now have it too. YAY!

Also, I am almost finished with the Countryside White Church. Yes I know I have been saying that for awhile now, but this time will be the last time for me to say that as I should be finished tonight with the stitching and then just the backstitching is all that remains. :)

    Still have snow!
We still have snow on the ground and had a minor Ice Storm last night. The temp is COLD!!!! Don't know if we are getting anymore or not. I sure hope so, as you can tell I LOVE SNOW!!! I do have to go out tomorrow and drive to Gallipolis, but it is a 4 lane all the way so it will be cleared off and since we are north of them I am sure we have more snow and ice.

I am so close to being finished with Countryside White Church, just one more color, well two actually but the one is just a few stitches, then on to the backstitching. WOO HOO My first finish for 2007! Can't wait!

    Blog Changes
You probably have noticed a few changes on my blog by now. I have noticed the blinkies and such on other people blogs and wanted to add them to mine as it looked plain and boring. After many hours trying to figure out what I am suppose to do I finally did it. YAY!!! Now my blog is looking a little bit over crowded, what do I elminate.

Below is how to add blinkies and banners to your blog.

How to Save the Image to Your Own Photo-Hosting Site:
    1) Right-Click the image you want to use. Choose "Save Image As ..." or "Save Picture As ... " depending on your browser.
    2) Save the image to your desktop or another folder on your computer.
    3) Choose a photo-hosting site for your images. There are lots of free ones out there. I personally like Photobucket.
    4) Upload the image to the photo-hosting site.

The Trick here is to add the blinkies to Photobucket and that automatically creats a URL code you can place on your blog. WOOHOOO Simple isn't it? All you will have to do is cut and paste the code into your template and POOF that's all there is to it. Now go give it a try and let me see some blinkies on your site. Oh yeah to find blinkies just do a search on the web. Have fun!

    Spring MSAL part 2

I got part 2 to the Spring MSAL yesterday and stitched it last night. It didn't take long at all and I got to stitch on the Countryside White Church which it won't be much longer untill it's finished.

The Spring MSAL part 2 has a brown bunny on the left and garden tools on the right side. The watering can and butterflies are from part 1. Five more parts and we will know what the completed piece will be. YAY! I can't wait.

I hope I have stitched the design the right way. Don't know yet but what would I do if I have it turned wrong. GEESH all that frogging!!!!!! Let's not think about that for now.

Let It Snow, Let It Snow, Let It Snow!!!!!
It SNOWED again yesterday and last night. YAY Yipppeeeeee YAY!!!! I don't think we got nearly the prediction of 4 to 7 inches of the powdery stuff and it's hard to tell since the ground was already covered with at least 3 inches. I say we probably got close to the 4 inches. Now if the Sun don't warm it up, then I will have it made. YAY!

This morning I did notice a little Snow Bird sitting in my Spruce tree. She looks so cold but extremely large. I was surprised at how large she is. I snapped the below photo through my window.

Here's another photo looking down the side street.

    Send more snow! PLEEEEEASE!!!!!

You Know You're a Stitcher When...
You Know You're a Stitcher When...
    written by Martha Beth Lewis
....you see a number on a street sign, in a shop window, in the hymnal, etc. and you immediately think of a floss color
....and you know exactly what that color is!
....and your friend knows exactly what you mean, too
....you have the full set of DMC floss
....you refer to colors by their DMC numbers
....you take skeins of floss to the paint store to match colors. Worse: You don't need the skeins; you remember the color exactly.
....your family knows to check their clothes for floss snippets before leaving the house
....your family knows not to walk barefoot around your stitching nest
....your family knows not to bother you when you're counting
....the pet knows it won't get any attention once you pick up your needle
....you look at the clock and see it's 6 PM, and what you planned for dinner is still in the freezer
....your family eats carry-in more than once a week
....you have more projects planned than you could stitch in ten lifetimes
....you cruise through your local shop when you don't need a thing "just in case."
....your family knows that when you've gone "out to play," you've gone to your local shop or to a friend's house to stitch
....your stash is huge, but you add to it anyway
....your stash is hidden beneath your bed and distributed to several closets so your family won't know how large it truly is
....when you're on vacation or away from home on business, one of the first things you do is check the local phone book for the locations of the needlework shops
....you'd rather have a gift certificate to your favorite shop for your anniversary than a piece of jewelry
....you have a pair of scissors just for clipping metallic threads
....you hide all your sewing scissors from the family
....dustballs begin to reproduce because you give them no attention because you'd rather be stitching
....you know what Orvus is and you don't have a horse
....you have some Orvus and you don't have a horse
....you haunt sporting goods departments for tackle boxes and other nifty containers to store your floss, metallics, etc
....refusing to go someplace on vacation until you KNOW where the shops are and have extracted promises of a visit to each.
....when your football team team is playing a super-important game and you pass up a chance to see it in HDTD, on a huge screen and socialize with other graduates so you can stay home by yourself and watch it on your tiny non-HDTV so you can stitch!
....there isn't a needlework magazine you haven't read
....and you subscribe to most of them
....your briefcase has a lunchtime project in it and your car glove compartment has an emergency project in it
....you buy database software so you can catalogue all your charts and magazines
....you haven't started this yet because you're too busy stitching.
    ....and adding to your stash
....you buy charting software so you can chart your own designs
....you've been known to stay up 'way past your bedtime just to do "one more stitch."
....you've introduced someone else to your stitching addiction.

    Countryside White Church

I have less then a quarter to stitch on the Church. YAY!! YIPPEEE! I have been working on it since October 29, 2006, but not everyday. December and January were such horrible months here, so I didn't work much on it through those two months.

I am really getting excited about finishing this one. Wonder how much longer it will take me, a week, two weeks? I don't know, but it will be soon... YAY! YIPPEEE!!!!!

    Stoney Creek Mag. Feb 07
I got a Stoney Creek Cross Stitch Magazine today in the mail. I don't have a subscription but ordered just this one last week. My Mom said it would cost over $10 to have it mailed to me by the time I paid the postage but guess what it was only $8.20. lol Ok so it was close but I just wanted the magazine since I can't find any Cross Stitch Magazines in the stores.

There are numerous patterns and on page 48 it has a must do pattern called "Almost Spring". It's the cover photo in case your wondering what it looked like. The caption reads

"Almost Spring. A handsome farm on the outskirts of a rural village is still surronded by patches of snow, yet the promise of spring is in the air. The sun is shining and the sky is a clear blue. The ice on the stream has thawed and once again water shimmers under the bridge. If your are experiencing a personal winter of the soul, be encouraged. This season, too, shall pass. It's almost spring!."

With a description like that it's a must do one now for me. Just what I need another pattern to do, I don't think I will live long enough to complete my stash now. But then what's just one more? Right!!

At 210w x 145h stitches I am going to be busy for awhile. It will be all well worth it though.

How do I say SUBSCRIPTION please!!!!

You can take a look at the items published by Stoney Creek! If it says Marilyns then that's the place. She is the creator of Stoney Creek.
